The photo of the Zeppelin is taken from Baylands Preserve. It was probably flying towards Moffet Field.
I saw zeppelin again yesterday - it seems to fly over campus quite often. It looks really lovely in the air, and I was surprised by how fast it moves.
But it just costs way too much to fly in it. The tours by Airship Ventures are listed here. Essentially a one-hour tour from Moffet Field (which doesn't include touring over the city) costs $495 per person!

It has been a while since we had gone out for a walk. We went to the Baylands Preserve again around sunset, but taking a different walk in the area. It was low tide so there was a lot more exposed mud. There was even what we termed "duck highway" - a little flowing stream for the ducks to get from one pool of water to another.
The birds were amazingly unfazed by the planes taking off and landing, calming feeding even as a loud helicopter flew overhead.

We went for a walk at the Baylands Preserve. Despite being surrounded
by a golf course, a sewage treatment plant, a dump and an airport, it
has its charms. We saw plenty of birds, including ducks, geese,
avocets, sea gulls (plus baby sea gulls!) and what looks like a ring
neck pheasant crossing the parking lot.
There was also a feeding frenzy at the duck pond when a few persons
started to feed the birds.

I didn't know there was a cactus garden on campus until recently. And
I had been living on campus for a total of 9 years (non-sequentially)!

We got this plant several months ago from Ikea for about 10 bucks. We
didn't know it can grow up to 18m in the wild. It has now probably
doubled in height. Since it is often referred to as a money tree in
Asian culture, I wonder if it will bring us good fortune too?

Mid Autumn Festival falls on Sep 14 this year. Last night, we were
wandering around by the bay in the evening. Caught bits of a free
outdoors Chinese orchestra concert playing traditional Teochew music,
in celebration of the Mid Autumn Festival.
